Everything old is new again this week on Breakfast All Day.
Here's what we reviewed in our latest episode:
MOANA (2026). If you've seen "Moana" (2016), you've seen
"Moana." Disney's going back to the animation well one more time
for their latest live-action remake. The songs from Lin-Manuel
Miranda are the stars again, but newcomer Catherine Laga'aia has an
appealing presence in the title role. Dwayne Johnson is back as the
demigod Maui (of course). In theaters.
THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING: WAS IT GREAT OR WERE YOU 8?. This is
our favorite game to play. This time, Alonso chose a film from his
childhood to see how it holds up today. Sean Connery and Michael
Caine co-star in this 1975 action epic from legendary director John
Huston. If you've seen it, is it still great? Rentable and
streaming in a variety of places.
MOVIE NEWS LIVE! Lots to talk about always including early
reactions to Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" (we're seeing it
Monday morning and will have an out-of-the-theater reaction), Emmy
nominations, the new "Dune: Part Three" trailer, Louise Lasser and
more. Join us Fridays at Noon Pacific.
Longtime film critics Christy Lemire and Alonso Duralde nourish your ears with movie reviews and news every Tuesday and Friday. We're the most important meal of the day, all day long. We used to be What the Flick?!
